40 Days of Prayer: Shaw Center

Shaw Center:

The Shaw Center is a vital piece of the East Side of Charleston.  They provide all kinds of programs free to the community to help working and single parents to push their kids to be the best they can be.  The entire staff works tirelessly to impact the youth of Charleston.  The following is taken from their page and it’s a small part of what they do:

After-school Program Adult supervision will be provided after school including homework help, games, crafts, and sports. After school is available Monday-Friday from 2:30pm-5:30pm for ages 12 and under.

Carolina Studios/ Music Education : Through the use of specialized equipment, high-quality microphones in the studios isolation booths, you will be able to edit, produce and burn your own CD.  Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 3 to 7pm for ages 12 to 18. This is a free program.

Homework Help: Free homework assistance Monday-Friday for children ages 5-18. Ages 5-12: 2:45pm-3:45pmAges 13-18: 4:30pm-5:15pm

Volunteers are needed to assist children with Homework Help! For more information, call (843) 577-4860. We have several people who go over weekly to help with homework, is this something you might be willing to help with?

Pray for the leaders at the Shaw Center as well as all the volunteers.  Pray for the children who come every day, that they gain strength in who they are and the knowledge that they are all vital parts of our community.

Repeat [God’s commands] again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
