Meet a Member: Genevieve & Sallie
“It was the infectious, spontaneous, genuine, welcoming friendliness that brought us in and has kept us here- from every one of you.”
“We have been blessed with more treasures since becoming members of Second Pres than we thought possible. Of course our treasures will first of all be our relationship with God and Jesus and then our families. We both treasure good health and the health we have still allows us to complete the Cooper River Bridge Run each year before sundown- and we think that’s good enough. We also treasure many, many things in Second Pres. The things that have brought us to know the people here are the things that we began to treasure. We treasure working with Habitat- and I started to name all the people we met doing these activities and it just became to the point that I thought, well I’d just be saying the whole congregation, because I have met so many people at Habitat and the Book Club getting to know people and discussing books and having fine wine and conversation and foods. And then we participated in Sunday School and that has been a real challenge and a reassignment of points of view. We also have begun to go to Wednesday Night Bible Study where we are being inspired to enrich our lives as Christians. And of course we work in the Tea Room. All of these activities have given us an opportunity to know you all- and you are the biggest treasure that Second Presbyterian has. The only other treasure that goes without saying is Cress. And it is Cress’ dynamic leadership and his caring concern and genuine, genuine being a human-being and a Christian that has kept us- along with the treasure of your friendships- and we feel very blessed.”
