About three times a year, we offer a “What We Believe” class. This class is for anyone wanting to know more about (or freshen up on) the essentials of the Reformed Christian faith as well as our requirement for membership in the church. It is original, systematic, and philosophical -- and we can guarantee there’s really nothing quite like it.
The class is led by our Minister, Rev. Cress Darwin. The class consists of a 2-hour session usually held on a Saturday morning. If, after completing the class, you are interested in joining Second Presbyterian Church, we hold a brief "New Member Welcome" ceremony as part of our Sunday Worship Service soon after the completion of each class.
What We Cover:
** God’s plan, the disconnect between God and humanity, and three major wordly systems of trying to bridge it
** The world’s 10 “Jesuses” vs. the biblical Jesus
** The historic creeds, communion and the Lord’s Prayer
** The history of the Presbyterian Church
** The values and vision of Second Presbyterian Church and how YOU become part of it
