Dear Friends in Christ –
Last week and many times before, I’ve spoken of the disciples in terms that were, perhaps, less than flattering. Certainly the gospels speak of them in all their humanity, a humanity that we share. They might be the hoi polloi – the common people – they may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, nor the bravest folks on the field. They are at times ambitious and at other times disloyal and cowardly. But I think I may have sold them short and in so doing, questioned Jesus’ judgment. Would the incarnate God have stopped by without a sure-shot plan?
This week we’ll look at what the gospels don’t tell us about the disciples that Jesus surely knew. We’ll be strengthened knowing Jesus sees us not as we are, but as we can be together in Christ.
Tune in or stop by at 10:30 a.m.– let’s gather to worship Jesus.
