SERMON SNAPSHOT

Dear Friends in Christ –

How’s your faith? Curious question. Broad. Non-specific. How’s yours? You may ask. Is it deep enough? Strong enough?

Do you fret wondering how your faith measures? Or do you just fret feeling yours is insufficient?

Many things we can’t qualify or quantify, but we know we want more. The disciples did. “Increase our faith,” they asked. Curious request.

The psalmist writes,“Do not fret because of the wicked; do not be envious of wrongdoers for they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday.”

As Richard Rohr puts it, “We do not think ourselves into a new way of living, but we live our lives into a new way of thinking.”

These times demand our best– a fret-free faith found together in God’s work and worship.

In anticipation –
