Dear Friends in Christ,
I write today still in the glow of yesterday’s services and fellowship. I feel compelled to mention that we had over 200 folks here. Why do I mention that? Because it felt good! The early Chapel Service had its usual charm and the Sanctuary Service was buzzing with so many children and families from the Second Presbyterian Kindergarten (SPK). What made this possible? A shared community, a common identity, a clear and worthwhile purpose – all under the blessing of and pointing to Jesus the Christ. In the coming days and weeks I’ll be sharing thoughts on a more regular basis and soliciting ideas from you and others so we can reach people at their point of need, share the dynamic love of Jesus and in the Spirit of God invite folks to join us in our joyful work here.
Come this Tuesday for a church-sanctioned carb fest – Shrove Tuesday Pancakes! Wednesday we begin a journey through Lent together. These are the times we get to share, to strengthen our faith and our resolve for God’s plan both together and individually.
If you haven’t established a regular pattern of attendance, here’s your chance. Remember we are stronger and better together! We’ll be engaging all that separates us from our true purpose by clothing ourselves in the armor of God. Who wouldn’t want to be clothed in God’s truth, righteousness, peace, salvation and Spirit?
Folks, we got work to do! Let’s do it together!
