Dear Second Family -
Here’s the news. There was a lightning strike on the tip-top of the bell tower yesterday afternoon. The fire department and the police were right there. Luckily the damage was confined to the top of the tower. There was no damage to the sanctuary and no one injured. Praise God!
This is another moment in the history of our grand church from which we will emerge stronger to witness to and serve our God. Today we begin the task of assessing the damage. Thank you to so many who have texted, called, emailed or stopped by offering help. We will keep you aware of the challenges we face. Let’s stay close, in prayer and with gratitude -
