Dear Friends in Jesus –
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
In our text this Sunday, Jesus pivots. The focus moves from teaching, healing, and preaching to the completion of his purpose; ‘he set his face toward Jerusalem’.
As he strides towards his destiny, he encounters three people who say, “I will follow you (Jesus) but…”
The cost of the journey!
If we would follow Jesus, we too must be prepared:
for some of our primary loyalties become secondary.
for conflict of good with good.
to have some of our cherished loyalties rearranged.
