SERMON SNAPSHOT: Sunday, November 14, 2021

Dear Friends in Christ –

This Sunday is Commitment Sunday. There will be cards in the racks on the back of the pews. Most of you will have received a letter from me asking you to prayerfully consider pledging to the work of Second Church for 2022. How much? Up to you. Why? Because money is necessary to do the work of ministry. And… you said you would when you became a member. Do I have to be a member? No. Then why should I give? Because the kingdom work that takes place through Second Church is important. To whom? To God. Really? Yep.

For over 200 years Charleston and beyond have seen outcasts welcomed, houses built, hungry fed, doubts respected, comfort given, God’s grace shared in and through Second Presbyterian. Come and celebrate the work we get to do.

In anticipation –

WORSHIP SAFETY GUIDELINES: Due to the substantial rate of COVID-19 community transmission, the CDC continues to recommend indoor masking in public settings for everyone. While a large portion of our congregation is vaccinated, there is a significant number of children who have not yet had the opportunity to be vaccinated, which affects the health and safety of the vulnerable and immunocompromised among us. Please continue to wear a face mask in church, even if you are fully vaccinated. Please worship from home if you are exhibiting any COVID-like symptoms, are aware of an exposure, or have been asked by a school or other institution to quarantine or isolate.
