INFORMATION & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Are you looking for a church home where you can make a difference for the God we serve? Where you belong and you will be known, nurtured, challenged? We welcome you and invite you to spend some time with us.
COMMITMENT SUNDAY – Rev. Darwin has been preaching on What Jesus Says About Money. Today we come together to commit our 2022 pledges in covenant with God and one another.
WORSHIP SAFETY GUIDELINES– Due to the substantial rate of COVID-19 community transmission, the CDC continues to recommend indoor masking in public settings for everyone. While a large portion of our congregation is vaccinated, there is a significant number of children who have not yet had the opportunity to be vaccinated, which affects the health and safety of the vulnerable and immunocompromised among us. Please wear a face mask in church, even if you are fully vaccinated.
OUR GUEST MUSICIAN TODAY, Abigail Kent, harpist, is a rising star in the harp world. Abby grew up in Mt. Pleasant. She is a doctoral student at the Juilliard School, and has participated successfully in many competitions, both on modern harp and Celtic harp. Abby was recently appointed Instructor in classical harp and Celtic harp at the College of Charleston. Today’s anthem, Eucaristica, was composed in 1934 by the famous Spanish/Catalan cellist Pablo Casals.
THORNWELL EMPHASIS MONTH – Thornwell’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect, build and reunite families, and support healthy communities in the name of Jesus Christ. THANKSGIVING BAKE SALE – The youth are signing up to bring a pie/dessert for auction as a Christian Education fundraiser held after church next week, November 21st. We have some great bakers! Come bid on a delicious homemade dessert to support CE the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

This year they will sing the Magnificat by Carl Theodore Pachelbel, son of the famous Johann Pachelbel (Kanon in D). CT Pachelbel emigrated to the Colonies and came to Charleston in 1737.
